20 years of Tsibogang

It’s not even half a year since we wrote in this blog about the financial dilemma we were in: We expected that in December, i.e. this month, the money on our Tsibogang account would no longer be sufficient, to continue with our work in January. A number of miracles have happened since then and we rub our eyes a lot and can only thank God that we were able to celebrate Tsibogang’s 20th anniversary thanksgiving on Saturday 3rd December.

In this post there are mainly pictures from this festival and some video clips of the singing on this occasion. The preparatory committee had invited many former members. Three of them gave speeches at the festival and told how their life has changed by working in Tsibogang.

Puny Pule

One of them is Puny Pule. She attended her first Tsibogang workshop when she was 18 and had just learnt that she is HIV positive. She dared to talk about her infection on the local TV station. This way, her parents and friends learned about her infection. Puly become a home care giver and an advocate for all who live with HIV. She even founded our self-help group Amogelang (“Accept each other”). Puly is finishing her training to become a professional nurse. She says: “Everything I am, I am with the help of Tsibogang.”

We would like to thank all donors who made it possible for our work to continue this year. Hopefully you can feel the joy of that in this blog. We wish you all a blessed Christmas and a good start into the year 2023.
